When you find a feed item you want to share, Postpone makes it easy to turn it into a scheduled post. The post composer opens pre-filled with the feed item's content, ready for you to customize and schedule.
Creating a Post from a Feed Item
- Navigate to the Feeds page.
- Find the feed item you want to share.
- Click the Create Post button on the item.
- The post composer opens with the feed item's content pre-filled.
- Select your accounts, customize the text, and schedule the post.
You can also create posts from feed items via the New Feed Items widget on the home dashboard.
What Gets Pre-Filled
When you create a post from a feed item, Postpone automatically fills in the following fields based on the platform:
| Field | What's filled | Platforms |
|---|---|---|
| Text | The item's title and link | All platforms |
| Link | The item's URL | Platforms with a link field (e.g., Pinterest, LinkedIn) |
| Caption | The item's title | Platforms with a caption field (e.g., YouTube, Pinterest) |
You can edit any of these fields before scheduling. The pre-filled content is a starting point — customize it to match your voice and audience.
Multiple Posts from the Same Item
You can create more than one post from the same feed item. This is useful when you want to share the same content across different accounts or at different times.
The Feeds page shows how many posts have been created from each item. Items that have had at least one post created will display a post count instead of the New badge.
Tracking Posted Items
Feed items track how many posts have been created from them:
- New — The item was published within the last 7 days, hasn't been posted, and hasn't been marked as seen.
- Post count — Shows how many posts have been created from the item (e.g., "2 posts").
This helps you quickly see which items you've already shared and which ones are still waiting.
Tips
- Customize before posting — The pre-filled text is a starting point. Add your own commentary or call-to-action to make the post more engaging.
- Mark items as seen — If you've reviewed an item but don't want to post it, mark it as seen to remove the New badge and keep your feed tidy.
- Filter by feed — Use the feed picker to focus on items from a specific source when deciding what to share.
