How does direct message automation work?

Postpone's Direct Message automation feature sends direct messages (DMs) to Redditors when certain things happen. You can send messages on one of these two events:

  1. A Redditor messages your account
  2. A Redditor comments on one of your posts

Direct message automation works by checking your inbox once every 10 minutes. We look for all of the DMs and comments you've received in the last 10 minutes and send any messages that meet the criteria.

Because we check your account's inbox to determine which messages to send, you'll need to ensure your scheduled posts have replies sent to your inbox. This can be enabled by checking "Send replies to my inbox" under Post Options on the Schedule Post page.
