Postpone supports notification posting for Reddit, which sends you a notification when it's time to post, so you can submit the post natively through Reddit's mobile app or website.

What is notification posting?

Notification posting is Postpone's feature that alerts you when it's time to publish your Reddit content. Instead of posting through Reddit's API (which can lead to account shadowbans), you'll receive a notification on your device, prompting you to complete the posting process natively in about 20 seconds.

Why use notification posting for Reddit?

With notification posting, you get all the powerful planning, optimization, and organization benefits of Postpone while maintaining the authenticity and safety of native posting.

Benefits you can expect:

  • Increased post engagement: Native posts typically receive 2x more upvotes than automated content*
  • Zero shadowban risk: Native posting is real and organic, and keeps your account safe from Reddit's automated spam filters
  • Access to all Reddit features: Submit videos to any subreddit, add polls, and use features only available in Reddit's official apps
  • Reduced spam flagging: Native posts are flagged as spam 8x less often than API posts*

How to create a notification post

Setting up notification posting is simple:

  1. Create your Reddit post in Postpone as you normally would
  2. Choose the date and time you would like the post to be submitted
  3. Schedule your post

That's it! Postpone will alert you when it's time to publish.

Where will I get notified?

Postpone can notify you in two places:

Mobile notifications setup

Make sure you:

  • Have the latest version of the Postpone mobile app installed
  • Log into your account in the Postpone mobile app
  • Enable notifications for the Postpone app in your device settings
  • Keep your device nearby at scheduled posting times

Browser notifications setup

Make sure you:

  • Allow notifications when prompted by Postpone in your browser
    • This occurs when scheduling your first notification post, or you can enable browser notifications at any time from Settings > Notifications
  • Keep Postpone open in a browser tab

How notification posting works on mobile

When you receive a notification:

  1. Tap the notification to open the post details in Postpone
  2. Review your post and tap "Open in Reddit" to launch the Reddit mobile app
  3. Complete the post in Reddit's app
  4. Mark the post as submitted back in the Postpone app to remove the post from your queue and receive analytics

What automatically pre-fills in the Reddit app

On iOS:

  • Subreddit (automatically selected)
  • Post title
  • Link URL (for link posts)
  • Post text/body (for text posts)

On Android:

  • Post title
  • Link URL (for link posts)
  • Post text/body (for text posts)
Note: On Android you'll need to manually select the subreddit. That's because Reddit's mobile app does not pre-fill the subreddit like it does on iOS.

What you need to add manually

  • Post flair: Copy the flair from Postpone and select it in Reddit
  • Media (images/videos): Download/copy from Postpone and add to your Reddit post
  • Subreddit (Android only): Select the subreddit shown in Postpone

Special note about profile posts

If you're posting to your own Reddit profile (u/yourname), the Reddit mobile app won't automatically open to the submit page. After launching Reddit from Postpone:

  1. Tap the Create button in the Reddit app
  2. Select Post
  3. Select your profile as the destination
  4. Add your content as usual

How notification posting works on web browsers

  • Post text/body (for text posts)
  • User profile posts open directly to the submit page

What you need to add manually

Pro tip: On web, you can often paste images directly into Reddit's post composer for faster posting.

Tips for smooth notification posting

  • Keep notifications enabled: Make sure you don't miss scheduled posting times
  • Use both mobile and browser: Choose whichever method fits your workflow best
  • Have your device near you at posting time: The entire process takes about 20 seconds, so plan to be available
  • Save time with copy buttons: Postpone provides quick-copy buttons for all post fields
