Scheduling Mastodon Posts

With Postpone, you can schedule Mastodon posts and threads in advance so that your content continuously appears in your followers' feeds.

Post Specifications

• Character limit: Each post can have up to 500 characters.
• Media support: Each post can contain up to 20 images, or 1 video, or 1 GIF. You cannot mix media types.

Threads

• Threads can contain unlimited posts.
• All posts in a thread are scheduled for the same date and time.
• You can reorder posts within a thread and use thread numbering.

How to Schedule a Mastodon Post

1. Click the Mastodon Create a Post button.
2. Write your post content (up to 500 characters).
3. Optionally attach images, a video, or a GIF.
4. Set the visibility level.
5. Optionally add a content warning or set the language.
6. To create a thread, click Add another post to add more posts.
7. Choose your desired Scheduled Date and Time.
8. Click Schedule Post.

Your Mastodon post will be submitted at the scheduled date and time.

Supported Features

Everything Postpone supports when scheduling to Mastodon:

• Single posts and threads — Schedule one post, or an unlimited-length thread that publishes in order at the scheduled time. Threads aren't available on Pixelfed.
• Thread numbering — Automatically append numbering (1/5, 2/5, and so on) to every post in a thread.
• Reordering — Move posts up or down to change their position in a thread before you schedule it.
• Media — Attach up to 20 images, a single video, or a single GIF to each post, without mixing types.
• Link image attachment — Pull the preview image from a link in your post and attach it as media with one click.
• Alt text — Add a description to each image so screen readers can describe it.
• Visibility — Publish as public, unlisted (visible to everyone but kept out of public timelines), followers-only, or as a direct post to mentioned users.
• Content warnings — Add warning text that hides the post body until a viewer chooses to reveal it.
• Language — Tag the post with the language it's written in so it reaches the right language filters.
• Auto-repost (boost) — Automatically boost your post after a delay. See Auto-Repost.
• Auto-remove — Automatically delete your post after a delay, optionally only when it hasn't reached a minimum number of favorites. See Auto-Removal.
• @mentions — Tag other fediverse accounts by typing @ in your post text.
• Pixelfed — Schedule to Pixelfed accounts through the same Mastodon connection, with a Pixelfed-specific preview.
