Postpone enables scheduling of posts to Telegram channels and groups from your connected accounts.
Post Specifications
- Character limit: Text-only posts can have up to 4,096 characters. When media is attached, the text becomes the caption and is limited to 1,024 characters.
- Media support: Each post can contain 1-10 photos and videos (sent as an album), or a single GIF.
- Formatting: Bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, spoilers, links, code and quotes are supported. Character limits count the text your readers see, not the formatting.
- Links: Links in your text are clickable automatically. Telegram shows a preview for the first link unless you turn it off.
- Buttons: Add up to 10 link buttons under a post, one per row. Telegram can't show buttons under posts with more than one photo or video, unless the post is paid media.
- Paid media: Charge Telegram Stars to unlock the photos and videos in a post.
Getting Started
- Connect your Telegram channel or group in Settings > Social Accounts.
- Click Create a Post and select your Telegram channel.
- Write your post and format it with the toolbar above the text. Attach media with the buttons under the text.
- Choose any Telegram options you'd like to apply from the sliders menu, and add link buttons with the hand icon.
- Choose your desired Scheduled Date and Time.
- Click Schedule Post.
Your Telegram post will be published by your bot at the scheduled date and time.
Formatting
Select text and use the toolbar to make it bold, italic, underlined or struck through, to add a link, or to mark it as code or a quote. Spoiler hides the selected text until a reader taps it, which works well for plot twists and answers to riddles. Links you type are clickable automatically, and a link can also be attached to any text, so "Read more" can open your article without showing the URL.
Buttons
Click the hand icon under the text to add link buttons, such as "Read the article" or "Shop now". Each button needs a label and a URL starting with https:// (or http:// or tg://), and each one appears on its own row under the post. Telegram can't attach buttons to posts with more than one photo or video.
Paid Media
Click the star icon under the text to charge Telegram Stars for the photos and videos in a post. Subscribers see the media blurred with the price, and anyone who pays unlocks it for good. The Stars go to your channel's balance, which you manage in Telegram. In a group, Telegram credits them to your bot's balance instead. Paid media works with a caption and buttons, but not with GIFs, and Telegram doesn't report purchases to bots, so earnings are shown in Telegram's channel statistics rather than in Postpone.
Telegram Options
Open the sliders menu under the text to change how the post is delivered:
- Link preview — choose Default, Large image, Small image or Off for the preview of the first link. Posts with media never show link previews.
- Send silently — subscribers receive the post without a notification sound.
- Pin after publishing — pin the post in the channel right after it is published. Available for channels only, and the bot needs the Manage Messages permission.
- Protect content — prevent the post from being forwarded or saved.
- Caption above media — show the text above the photos and videos instead of below them.
- Spoiler — blur the photos and videos until a reader taps them.
Default Post Settings
Set the options you use on every post once, under Settings > Default Post Settings > Telegram, and new posts start with them filled in:
- Image Stars and Video Stars — the default price for paid media, applied when you attach a photo or a video. Leave a price at 0 to post that type of media for free.
- Pin after publishing and Protect content — turned on for every new post. Pinning is available for channels only.
- Buttons — link buttons added under every new post, such as "Subscribe".
- Link preview — the default preview size for text posts with a link, or off.
Each setting is per channel or group, and you can still change everything on the post itself. See Default Post Settings.
