Tag analytics lets you measure the performance of your posts grouped by post tag. Use it to compare content categories or any custom grouping you've created with tags.
Accessing Tag Analytics
Navigate to Analytics > Tags from the main navigation. The page displays performance data for all posts that have been assigned tags.
How It Works
When you assign post tags to your scheduled posts, Postpone aggregates the performance metrics for all posts sharing the same tag. This gives you a high-level view of how your content is performing by category.
For example, if you tag all posts related to a product launch with a "Product Launch" tag, the analytics page shows you the combined engagement, views, and other metrics for all posts with that tag.
Available Metrics
Tag analytics displays the same metrics available in Post Metrics, aggregated across all posts with a given tag:
- Likes — Total likes across all tagged posts.
- Replies — Total comments and replies.
- Views — Total impressions (where supported by the platform).
- Engagements — Total interactions across all engagement types.
- Engagement Rate — Average engagement rate across tagged posts.
Filtering and Comparison
Use filters to narrow your view:
- Date range — View performance over a specific time period.
- Account — Filter by a specific connected account.
- Tag — Select one or more tags to compare side by side.
Comparing tags helps you identify which content types are driving the best results so you can double down on what works.
Tips for Effective Tag Analytics
- Be consistent with tagging — Tag every post that belongs to a group so your analytics reflect the full picture.
- Use descriptive tag names — Names like "Q1 Blog Promo" or "Product Launch 2026" make it easy to identify groups later.
- Compare similar groups — Use tag analytics to A/B test different content strategies by tagging each approach separately.
