The Schedule Post page is where you create and schedule content across all of your connected social accounts. You can target a single platform or publish to multiple accounts at once, with full control over content, timing, and how each post looks before it goes out.
Selecting Accounts
When you open the Schedule Post page, an account picker appears automatically. You can select one or more accounts from any connected platform.
- Each selected account gets its own post in the left sidebar. Click any account in the sidebar to switch between them and customize the content for that platform.
- To add more accounts after your initial selection, click Add Accounts at the top of the sidebar.
- To remove an account from the session, click the remove button next to it in the sidebar.
If you only have one social account connected, Postpone selects it automatically.
Filling In Your Post
After selecting an account, the main form loads with fields specific to that platform. Common fields include:
- Text / Caption — The body of your post. Character limits are enforced per platform.
- Media — Upload images or videos, reorder them, add alt text, or pick a cover image.
- Scheduled Date & Time — When the post should go out. If you have an account schedule configured, Postpone pre-fills the next available slot automatically.
- Publishing Method — Choose between Automatic (Postpone publishes on your behalf) or Notification (Postpone sends you a push notification when it is time to post natively). See Notification Posting for details.
Platform-specific fields — like subreddit selection for Reddit, reply settings for X (Twitter), article titles for LinkedIn, or board selection for Pinterest — appear within each account's form.
Scheduling Across Multiple Accounts
When you have more than one account selected, Postpone creates a separate post for each. You can customize each post independently or use syncing to keep them aligned.
How Syncing Works
Many fields display a sync button (a circular arrow icon) that appears when you hover over that field. Clicking it pushes the current value of that field to all other accounts in your session.
Syncable fields include:
- Caption / Text — Share the same copy across platforms.
- Media — Apply the same images or video to all posts.
- Scheduled Date & Time — Set all posts to the same date and time.
When you add a new account mid-session, Postpone automatically syncs compatible fields from your first post to the new one. Thread-based platforms (X, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon) sync the full thread; all other platforms sync individual fields like caption and media.
Post Preview
The Preview panel on the right side of the page shows a live rendering of your post as it will appear on the platform. The preview updates as you type, so you can catch formatting issues, see how images are cropped, and confirm everything looks right before scheduling.
On narrower screens the preview panel is hidden by default. Use the arrow button in the top-right corner of the form to show or hide it at any time.
Tagging Posts
Use post tags to label and organize your posts for campaigns, content types, or reporting. The tag picker is in the left sidebar, below your selected accounts.
Tags are applied to every post in your current session — so if you are scheduling to Instagram, X, and LinkedIn at the same time, all three posts receive the same tags.
Actions
Once your post is ready, use the action buttons at the bottom of the form (or preview panel) to submit it:
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Schedule Posts | Schedules all posts at their configured date and time. |
| Submit Now | Publishes all posts immediately, without waiting for the scheduled time. Not available for Reddit posts. |
| Save Draft | Saves all posts as drafts so you can finish and schedule them later. See Drafts. |
| Submit for Review | Sends posts to an approver before they are published. Appears instead of Schedule Posts when your account uses the Reviews & Approvals workflow. |
If any posts have validation errors, Postpone highlights them and prevents scheduling until they are resolved. The error count is shown above the action buttons.
